How the age calculator works
The calculator compares your date of birth with the "age on" date. It first counts how many birthdays have passed (full years), then how many full months have passed since the last birthday, and finally the leftover days. Leap years are taken into account automatically, so the total-days figure is exact.

Frequently asked questions
How is exact age calculated?
Your age goes up by one on each birthday. The calculator counts full years since your date of birth, then the full months since your last birthday, then the remaining days. So someone born on 10 March 1990 is 36 years, 7 months and 6 days old on 16 October 2026.
What if I was born on 29 February?
In non-leap years there is no 29 February, so this calculator treats 28 February as your birthday for the countdown. Some countries legally use 1 March instead, so check local rules if your age matters for a legal deadline.
Can I calculate age on a date other than today?
Yes. Change the "Age on" date to any past or future date. This is handy for checking how old someone will be on a cut-off date for school entry, a sports category, a visa or a retirement plan.
Is my date of birth stored anywhere?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to a server.
