Rotate Image
Turn sideways photos upright, straighten a tilted horizon, or mirror an image with a flip.

Why save a rotated copy?
A photo that looks upright in your phone's gallery often shows up sideways on an upload form, in a work email or in older software. That's because the image itself is stored lying down, with only a tag saying "rotate when displaying". To make it look right even where that tag is ignored, you need to rotate the pixels themselves and save again.
Landscapes with a slightly tilted horizon or documents shot at an angle can be straightened to the exact degree with the angle slider. For mirrored selfies, use "Flip horizontal" to make text read the right way. Flips are applied to the image as it appears after rotation.
If you have many photos lying the same way, such as scanned documents or travel shots, add them all at once. Check the preview of the first one, then apply, and every photo gets the same rotation. iPhone HEIC photos are saved as JPG.
| Situation | Button to press | Quality |
|---|---|---|
| Photo is lying on its left side | ↻ Right 90° | No loss |
| Photo is upside down | 180° | No loss |
| Selfie text is mirrored | ↔ Flip horizontal | No loss |
| Horizon tilted by 2–3° | Adjust the angle slider | Very slightly softer |
Photos rotated at an angle get empty corners, so after saving, trim them with Crop Image for a clean result. If your upload needs a specific size, set the pixels with Resize Image. More tools are in Image Tools.
Frequently asked questions
Why do my phone photos show up sideways on a computer?
Phones don't actually rotate the photo when saving it. They just add an orientation tag (EXIF) that says "display this rotated". Websites and programs that ignore the tag show the photo lying on its side. This tool applies the orientation tag first, then rotates and saves the pixels, so the saved file looks the same everywhere.
What happens to the corners when I rotate by an angle that isn't 90°?
The output gets slightly bigger so the whole tilted photo fits, leaving empty space in the four corners. Saved as PNG or WEBP the corners are transparent; as JPG they are filled with white, and you can also pick black or any colour. If you don't want the empty corners, crop the inside afterwards with Crop Image.
Can I rotate several images the same way at once?
Yes. Add up to 50 images; the preview shows the first one, and the same rotation and flip are applied to every image. Save them one by one or download a single ZIP.
Does rotating reduce image quality?
Rotating by 90° or 180° and flipping only move pixels around, so there is no quality loss (apart from re-compression when saving as JPG). Small angles like 1° or 3° need new pixels to be calculated, which can soften the image very slightly.
